Common Core States Standard Initiative

Most states in the United States, along with Washington, D.C. and the Virgin Islands, have adopted the Common Core States Standard Initiative. Explain and defend the reasons why a state would choose NOT to adopt these standards. Please be specific in explaining the reasons why the state of Maryland would adopt this initiative.
