For extra credit in English 126, use any critical thinking skills to read, analyze, and respond to the argument developed in the following essay by John Derbyshire on the subject of child labor laws. Interested in hearing your assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of this essay,  primarily interested in seeing how well you summarize the basic concepts at the center of this issue, and in how strongly you analyze the ways that Derbyshire uses argumentation in his attempt to persuade the reader.  Your essay should be approximately 4-5 paragraphs, and should include a summary of the argument, an analysis of the writer’s rhetorical strategies, a discussion of any rhetorical techniques and logical fallacies, and at least one paragraph in which you address your own position on this issue.
