Homeland Security

The Office of the Secretary is currently undergoing a project to update all of the information it makes available to the public via its Web site. The office has tasked you with updating information on the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; you have been asked to prepare a paper in which you will provide the following information:
• A brief history of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security including basic definitions, key concepts, infrastructure, and major roles and responsibilities of this department
• One example of a historical incident or breech of homeland security that encouraged the United States to strengthen its homeland security policies and strategies
• One result of the initiative to strengthen homeland security (e.g., implementation of The Homeland Security Advisory System)
• How effective was this particular initiative, and how did it change U.S. homeland security?
