Introduction

?The titanic movie is a tragic romantic film that involves two young people who fall in love aboard an ill fated ship on its maiden voyage. It is a movie about how love can grow between two very unlikely people as in the case of Rose, a wealthy lady headed for marriage to a wealthy man called Cal. It is also about the challenges and sacrifices that must be given for the sake of love.

Background information

The movie is based on a real story. It is an account of the sinking of RMS Titanic.

Thesis statement

Evidence in support of the thesis statement

a. Rose who comes from a rich family falls in love with Jack who is a poor but a spirited young man. Rose occupies the first class compartment while Jack occupies the third class compartment.
b. Their love meets with a lot of challenges. They get opposition from Rose’s fiancé Cal. For instance, when Cal discovers their relationship, he gets Jack arrested.
c. Their love requires a lot of sacrifices. Rose sacrifices her life by going to save Jack from where he has been handcuffed on a pipe. She also sacrifices the good life promised if she marries Cal.
d. Rose also risks her life by going back on board of the sinking to save Jack when she realizes that he has been left deliberately. Jack also sacrifices his life to save Rose. He helps her to get to the wall panel and sacrifices his life for her.
