Families /whanau, communities, and service providers are signficant contributors to the outcome of the consumer’s journey of recovery. The media, stigma, discrimination and marginalisation often hinder and disrupt hope and recovery and effective treatment. Collaboration and education of all parties is important to assist in hope and recovery and contribute to the changing views of society towards mental illness.
