Follow-up letter

After initial contact with a prospective client or interviewer, or after you mail a resume to an employer, you decided to write a follow-up letter in order to reinforce your position or thank a person his consideration. Keep in mind that you are not supposed to use the names of real companies. The writing style needs to be fairly formal.
To write a  follow-up letter, you should:
1. Thank the recipient and briefly remind them of yourself.
2. Show that you are still interested in the company’s current concerns and opportunities.
3. If you are applying for a job, remind the potential employer of your key skills.
4. Don’t cover old ground: offer new insights to add to your appeal.
5. Indicate how you want to proceed from this point.
