WR 301ÃWriting Project #4: My Hero
The purpose of this assignment is for you to learn how to integrate the content from a literary text with your own personal experience. Write two paragraphs in response to the prompt below. Using the skills you learned for Writing Project #3, provide a concise summary in your first paragraph, and make sure to transition gracefully from the first paragraph to the second.
According to Elizabeth Berg, what qualities make somebody a hero? Do you agree with her point of view? How would you define heroism Write two paragraphs in response to these questions. In your first paragraph, provide a summary of Bergs main ideas. Support her definition by citing the examples from the text. End your first paragraph with whether or not you agree with her definition. Begin your second paragraph with your own definition of hero. Then, describe a specific person that you consider heroic. In your eyes, what qualities and/or achievements make this person a good example of heroism? Use direct quotes from the text to support your ideas.
Length: 1 to 1.75 pages, double spaced, one-inch margins, 12 pt. Times New Roman Font
Due Dates: November 30th Peer Evaluations. Bring 2 typed copies of your draft to class.
December 2nd Writing Project #4 Due.

When you turn in Writing Project #4, be sure to include the final draft, the rough draft, and two peer evaluation sheets.  In addition, you must submit a copy of your final draft electronically, via our Blackboard site by December 2nd by 11:59 PM.  Essays will not be evaluated until they clear Turn it In, and those essay that are not submitted to Turn it In will earn 0 points.
