Format:  approximately 5 to 6 pages, double-spaced, with no more than one-inch margins on all sides, and 12-point font.  Do not skip lines between paragraphs or at the beginning of the paper.

 

Due:  Upload your paper to Turnitin Dropbox in Bb by Wednesday March 1, 2017, 11:30 pm at the latest.  No late papers accepted.

Topic:   Book Critique

 

Structure:   Your essay should have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion with topic sentences for paragraphs and transition sentences.  Your introduction should include a broad thesis statement that responds generally to the topic.  Your body should have thematic paragraphs that address the topics below while using quotations from primary and secondary sources with proper punctuation and citation.  Finally your conclusion should have summative statements about your findings and responses to the book and topics below.

 

Your critique should identify the book as a primary or secondary source and why, a 1-2 page review of the book identifying why you chose the book and an overview of key concepts in the book. In the next 2 pages discuss the historical and social context of the era to illustrate why the events occurred as they did. Finally, in the last page, identify how nursing and/ or health care has changed based on the events of illustrated in the book.

Citation:  Use in-text APA style of citation for quotations from the primary and secondary sources, and include an APA Works Cited at the end of your paper.  Be sure to use beginning and end quotes for the texts that you cite.
